Šalikas drobės raštu/Linen stitch scarf

Mėnesį kaupiausi, kol prisiruošiau parodyti naują vyrišką šaliką, kuriuo pati labai džiaugiuosi. Senasis jau buvo išsipešiojęs, patįsęs ir nebelabai gražus, tad nusprendžiau Kalėdoms numegzti naują. Jei gerai pamenu, pradėjau spalio pradžioje, o baigiau prieš pat gruodį :) Jei galėčiau visą savo laiką skirti mezgimui, būčiau tiek netrukus..

It took me a month to show you a new scarf, which I really like. The old one became not as nice, as it was, so I decided to knit a new one for Christmas. As far as I remember, I started this scarf at the beginning of october and it was finished few days until december :) If I could knit all the time, it wouldn't have taken so long..

Visas šio šaliko įdomumas yra tame, kad jis megztas ne į ilgį, o į plotį, t.y. ant virbalų uždėta tiek akių, kokio ilgio šaliko norima ir mezgta tol, kol pasiektas norimas plotis (taikiau, kad ir siūlų neliktų). Mezgiau virbalais su valu, stumdyt tiek akių (kiek tiksliai jų buvo, nebežinau, bet pora šimtų tikrai turėjo būt..) nėra labai lengva..
Išskalbto ir išdžiovinto šaliko matmenys: 180 x 23 cm.

The most interesting part of this scarf is that it is knitted lengthwise. It means that the length of the scarf depends on number of stitches, which were casted on needles. And number of rows depends on desired width. I used circular needles, but it is not very simple to knit, when there are so many (now I don't really know the exact number of them, but I think that two hundreds of stitches were for sure..) stitches on the needles..
The size of washed and dried scarf was 180 x 23 cm.

Megzta iš trijų atspalvių pilkų pusvilnės siūlų, dryžiai išėjo savaime.
Šalikas megztas drobės raštu (linen stitch), kurį radau internete ieškodama įdomesnių idėjų šalikui. Iki tol man jis buvo nematytas. Patiko. Mezginio, megzto šiuo raštu, pusės skirtingos, tačiau abi savaip gražios, blogosios pusės, mano manymu, čia nėra :)

I used three shades of grey semi-wool yarn. The stripes came of themselves. 
The scarf knitted in linen stitch, which I found on the internet searching for ideas. It looked new for me. I like it. The sides of this knit are different, but both of them are nice, I think, that there is no wrong side in this knit :)
